What is the USS Serpens?
The USS Serpens is a starship located in Starfleet Academy's Holobuilding One. This Nova Class variant starship can be placed anywhere in the Quadrant due to the unique nature of the ship itself. This means that the ship does not necessarily have to go through the usual leisure transport time, etc.

The crew of the USS Serpens is made up of staff and players alike. These players play characters who are regular Starfleet Officers, not trained trainers in any way. The Ship Manager will fill the role of either Commanding or Executive Officer depending on the current candidate.

Is Command Training Required?
Command Training is not required, but a beneficial tool to those who are eager to become either a Ship/Station Manager or an Executive Officer. When placed in one of these positions, the candidate will have complete control of the situation. By doing this, the candidate will have a taste of what it would be like to be in the center seat.

Once the candidate has graduated from training, the results will be listed on the player's ODN comments and sent to all Fleet Managers and Ship Managers by the Serpens' Ship Manager when command positions are available.

There have been several graduates who have made it to command level positions - so this is a great way to get your foot in the door!
